A mild night

After a very mild night the overnight minimum temperature was still in double figures at its lowest point (10.6c – 05:31 hours) then today will continue this mild theme.

Our top temperature today will be around 17c and overnight the low will be around 8-9c.

The jet stream is currently sitting just to the north of the UK and this is allowing the warmer mild air from the south to bring a more moderate feel to our region.  The mild air, is however, then mixing with cooler air from the north which is forming a cloud bed.   The cloud bed will vary in density during the day but will be present for the majority of the time.

The radar images do show that there are a few light rain clouds “dotted” around our area but the majority will simply blow by.  There is, however, a 25-30% risk of us seeing the odd drop of rain today.

The high air pressure will remain stable for the day and this means that the winds will be light. The average wind speed we can expect today is around  5mph.  The wind will start the day from the SW and will gradually move clockwise to end the day deriving from the WNW.

Summary. A more cloudy day but remaining mild.
