Falling pressure

As I write this blog (approximately 06:30 hours) light rain is falling and a look at the barometer and radar images suggest(strongly) that there is more rain to come.

The air pressure will reduce to a low of around 1004mb and the risk of further rain showers this morning is around 95% certain.  The radar images clearly show rain cloud passing through our area this morning.

There is, however, some mixed density in the rain cloud so the rain will not be persistent or at a constant rate.  This afternoon the risk of rain reduces slightly to around 55%.  The further north you travel towards Lancashire the heavier and more persistent the ran will be this morning.

It will be a cool and, at times, a breezy day.  The top temperature will be around 12c and overnight the low will be around 6c

The wind will start the day deriving from the SW-SSW before moving towards the W maybe even the WNW as the day passes.  The average wind speed will be around 7mph.

Summary. Generally cloudy with some rain too.

Observations made 06:30 hours Hammerwich, Staffordshire.

Air pressure : 1006.6mb ; Temperature 9.2c; Relative humidity : 82%; Wind 6mph SW; Rain this month : 50.6mm; Rain this year : 179.6mm.
