In need of an arc to see Elton?

By o7:15 hours this morning nearly 10mm of rain (9.8mm) had fallen in our area since this rainy session began (2.2mm last night and 7.6mm this morning).

The radar images are clearly showing that further rain will fall onto our area today although there will be some respite later in the day.  We can expect around another 6-7mm of rain to fall today and so, by 07:15 hours, we are over half way.  Our local cricket teams will find it extremely difficult to put a match on today.

We can expect the risk of rain and its severity to reduce, however, as the day passes and by early evening we will see the rain risk to reduce to around 25%. If you are going to the Elton John concert tonight be prepared for the odd (light) shower although it should be mainly dry.

It will be a mild but not warm day with a top temperature of around 16c.  Concert goers will enjoy a temperature of around 11-12c  and overnight the minimum will be around 9c.

The wind will start the day deriving from the N but will end the day (an indicator of a drier spell coming will be when the wind changes direction) from the W-SW.  The average wind speed today will be around 4mph.

Summary. Generally a damp day but becoming less of a risk of rain by the evening.
