Talk of a Spanish Plume

There is every indication that today is going to be warm although there will still be some cloud around to temper the top temperature.  At 06:30 hours this morning the air temperature was around 13.5c and we can expect the top air temperature to rise to around 21-22c.  Last night’s minimum temperature was 10.4c at 04:53 hours and we can expect tonight to be around the 11c mark.

There is, however, some good and bad news on the horizon. The bad news is that there is  low pressure system to the west of the UK and this will bring a 12% risk of rain today (highest risk mid morning) and a 75% risk of rain tomorrow afternoon.  The good news is that current forecast models show that a “Spanish Plume” is predicted reach our area around the 3-4th July.  If the model proves to be correct then we can expect top temperatures of around 28-30c.

The pollen count for today is forecast as being high.

The wind today will be deriving from the SW and the average speed will be around 3-4 mph.
