The warm up act

Today “takes the stage” as the warm up act for the next two days when, on those days, the air temperature will be at their highest for the week with a peak on Wednesday of around 30c.

Today will see a partly cloudy day but one that will allow some brighter spells to break through.  Our top temperature today will be a very comfortable 21c.  Overnight the minimum temperature will be 14c.  If you want to work outside then today will be a good day to do so.

The high air temperatures over the next few days will be caused by the jet stream taking a position above the UK and creating warm winds from the SE.  In parts of France and Spain the temperatures will reach around 38-40c on Wednesday.

The additional heat in our area over the next few days (excluding today) could lead to some thunder storms as the day cools downs.

Back to today and despite some cloud cover the risk of rain is extremely low at no greater than 6%.

The wind will deriving from the SW and the average wind speed will be around 6mph.

Summary. A partly cloudy but mild day. Remaining dry.
