The last day of June will go out with some glory today as the air temperature will soar to around 25-26c (feels like 28c). There will be very little cloud around to filter the sun and so it will also be a very bright day. The UV index will reach 8 around midday so if you are working outside you will need to cover your skin.
The jet stream is currently looping from the SW to just above the UK and this will allow the warmth of the S to reach our area. Further north in the UK (Scotland) some parts will see rain today.
The wind will be deriving from a S-SE arc and the average wind speed will be around 5mph.
Pollen sufferers will find the pollen count very high today although the pollen count will be at its lowest around midday when the grass flowers will close due to the heat. With the continued warmth today pollen is likely to be released throughout the day and night.
Overnight will remain warm with the lowest temperature around 17c. As the day passes the air pressure will reduce and this will be bring more cloud tomorrow in what will become a very warm and humid day.
