The jet stream continues to make its journey from W to E across the UK but as the day passes its central position will head more towards the N and this will allow for some brighter spells to break through during the afternoon in our area. The air pressure will rise to around 102mb. I hope that this sounds like a little better weather picture than the one I have reported for the last couple of days.
This morning the radar images are showing a few small rain cloud systems passing through or near to our area. these systems will bring an 11% risk of rain. It will, however, remain generally cloudy all morning with medium cloud cover.
As the afternoon passes the clouds will fragment and we will see some bright spells. These bright spells will help lift our top temperature up to around 20c. During the night our overnight low will be around 10c. Last night’s minimum temperature was 12.1c at 03:09 hours.
The wind will be deriving from a W-NW arc. The average wind speed will be around 6mph.
Today’s pollen count is high and the UV index this afternoon will reach 6.
