2.6mm of rain had fallen in our area today by the time of my observations (07:41 hours) and there is a little more to come but, the good news is, not too much.
The radar images show a further sliver of rain cloud heading our way and this will bring some further rain but all major threats (greater than 40%) will be beyond our area by 10:030 hours.
As the day passes we will see the cloud cover begin to fragment and even bring us some brighter spells. These brighter spells will help lift our top temperature up to around 19c. Overnight the low will be around 12-13c.
The jet stream will bring the wind from the SW first thing this morning but as the day passes the derivation will move slightly clockwise to spend the majority of the day “blowing” from the W. The average wind speed today will be around 6-7mph.
The overall picture is don’t let the first impression put you off the day as it will improve.
Summary : Early morning rain will clear to the east allowing brighter spells to form in our area.
