Sunday showers

After yesterday’s very pleasant day, today returns to more cloud and rain.  A low pressure system that is based to the W of us is gradually pushing across the UK and will reach our area by around 09:00 hours.  We can expect to see rain falling in our area from around by mid morning (when the air pressure is nearer 1000mb).

Rain showers will continue to be a threat throughout the day with the risk of rain at 95%.   Some of the showers will be moderate to heavy.  We can expect the total accumulation of rain today to be around 5-7mm.

To confirm the imminent arrival of the low pressure system is that, at the time of observations (08:30 hours), the barometer was showing that the air pressure was reducing rapidly (from 1015.3mb to 1007.9mb since midnight to 08:40 hours).  We  can expect the air pressure to reach a “low” of around 996-998mb.

Our top temperature today will be around 15c and the overnight low will be similar (around 13c).

The wind will be deriving from the ESE and the wind speed today will be around 6-10mph.

Summary : Rain moving in from the W.  Some of the rainfall could be moderate to heavy.
