Warm today?

As the day passes the air pressure will continue to rise slowly to around 1018mb.  Whilst this will bring us a predominantly dry day it will be generally cloudy with the cloud cover being between 60-100%.

A high pressure system will bring us warmer winds from the SSW-SW today and this, in turn, will see some warmer and humid air in our area.  Out top temperature will be around 21c but overnight, with the cloud blanket keeping in the residual heat, the overnight low is unlikely to be below 16c.  A warm night for us all.

Despite the cloud we can expect the daylight hours to be predominantly dry but we do have a 70% risk of some rain today.  The current radar images are suggesting that the highest level of risk will be around mid to late evening.  The rain is most likely to be light.  In the last 24 hours we have received 6.2mm of rain.  Plymouth in the South and parts of the Highlands in Scotland both received 38mm of rain yesterday.

Th wind will derive from the SSW-SW throughout the day.  The average wind speed will be around 7-8mph.
