A bright late August morning

First thing this morning sees the cloud fragmented and the sun is able to shine brightly. This brings a pleasant start to the day.   The air pressure will continue to increase until late morning thereby continuing the pleasant theme, however, we will then see the picture change a little.

During the morning the jet stream will change position from one across the South coast to one running across the centre of the UK.  This will, as a consequence, introduce a low air pressure system, increase the cloud cover and  consequently increase the threat of rain.

The risk of rain mid to late afternoon and overnight is around 65%.  The cloud cover from late morning will be generally 100% cover and light but by mid afternoon it will be 100% and dense. (The cloud cover will be formed at low medium and high heights).

Our top temperature will be around 17c and the overnight low will be around 12c.

The winds will be light during the morning (average speed 4mph) but will increase in speed as the air pressure reduces during the afternoon to around 6-7mph.  The wind will be deriving form a SW-SE arc.

Summary : A bright start but cloud cover will increase as the day passes.
