Not such a bright start

In stark contrast to yesterday today sees the day start off very dull and wet underfoot.  Heavy early morning rain has left 5.8mm of rain deposited in our area by 06:30 hours this morning (41mm for the month so far).

The air pressure will continue to reduce first thing this morning before rallying to around 1002mb later today.  The radar images are showing that the bulk of the rain cloud has now passed through our area and, apart from a few short showers, the rest of the morning will be relatively dry.  The risk of rain will reduce to around 25% by mid to late morning and to around 7% by mid afternoon.

This afternoon will even sees the cloud bed fragment allowing some brighter spells to break through and increase the top temperature to around 20c.  Overnight the minimum temperature will be around 12c.

The wind will be deriving from the SW and, due to the closeness of the air pressure points, it may be breezy at times.  The average wind speed will be around 8mph but gusts may reach the mid 20s mph.

Summary : A dull and wet start but getting becoming brighter and dry as the the day passes.
