Where is the jet stream today?

It is another dull start to the day with 7/8ths cloud cover at approximately 06:30 hours. The jet stream is running along the southern edge of England and this position will bring prolonged periods of rain in Northern France but for us we can expect the odd spot of rain / drizzle but the risk of anything more persistent than that is only around 20%.

We will see some fragmentation in the cloud from time to time and this will allow the for the odd brighter spell to break through.  The top temperature today will be around 18c.  Overnight the minimum temperature will be around 10c.

There is a low pressure system to the NW of the UK and this will introduce a steady SW breeze in our area.  The average wind speed will be around 6mph.

Looking ahead to the weekend sees the jet stream moving northwards and taking up a position centrally across the UK.  This means that we are likely to see some cloud and showers along the way.

Summary : A partly cloudy and breezy day.  A low risK of persistent rain.
