A change afoot

The surface air pressure continues to reduce slowly and a low pressure system will begin to push across the UK today.  This will not, however, bring any obvious adverse weather to our area during daylight hours.  The risk of rain during daylight hours is only 9%.

The day will start off cloudy but as the day passes we will see the cloud cover fragment bringing us some brighter spells.  Our top temperature today will be around the 20c mark. overnight the temperature low will be around 11-12c.

The jet stream has move a little further North and this has created a low pressure “loop” to the West of the UK.  This low pressure will move across the UK and will eventually bring some rain to our area sometime during the early hours and tomorrow morning.

The wind will be deriving predominantly ESE today.  The wind speed will be very light this morning but will increase as the day passes and as the low air pressure system begins to “squeeze” closer together.  The average wind speed by mid afternoon will be around 7-8mph.

Summary :  Cloudy start getting brighter before more cloud and probably rain overnight.
