Time for your warm cardigan

It is a cool start to the day with the air temperature (5.1c) reaching the lowest point since the 26 September 2015 (4.4c).  It is that time of year to find your warm cardigan.

The good news is that it will be another dry day with some bright spells. The risk of rain today will only be around 8%.  If you want to leave your washing out then it will be ok. During the afternoon and evening we will see the cloud cover increase.  The cloud will be based at medium level (6,500 -20,000 ft).

Our top air temperature today will be around the 13c mark and overnight the air temperature will reach a low of around 5c in more rural areas.  As we discussed yesterday gardeners may need to consider protecting young or tender plants.  This week the air temperature will continue to be in single figures overnight.

The wind will be deriving from the generally the NW today.  The winds will be light this morning at around 3mph but may increase to around 5-6mph this afternoon / evening.
