Rain on its way?

The rain radar images are clearly showing rain carrying clouds are moving across the UK from the W and will reach our area by around 09:00 hours.  There is a 95% risk of our area receiving some rainfall by noon.  The rain will be moderately heavy and we can expect between 3-6mm of rain to fall in our area.  After lunchtime the risk of rain reduces to around 25%.

It will be a cloudy morning but it will brighten up a little during the afternoon.  Despite the brighter spells our top temperature will only be around 12c.  Overnight will see the clouds clear a little and this will mean that the minimum temperature will reduce to about 5c.  Last night’s low was 9.8c at 03:46 hours.

The wind today will be deriving initially from the S-SW but as the day passes the derivation will move slightly clockwise to spend the afternoon and evening from the W.  The average wind speed today will be around 6mph.
