At the time of observations (06:30 hours) we are in the middle of a large rain cloud system that will bring rain to most parts of the UK today. As I write the post the air pressure is reducing rapidly but once the rain storm has passed we will see it increase again to 1017mb by the end of the day.
The radar images are showing that this morning’s rain will be generally beyond our area by around 11:00 hours. There is, however, a further (60%) risk of more showers again at the end of the day (22:00 hours).
With the rain comes a general cloud cover and this at least means that it will be a mild day with a top temperature of around 15c. Overnight the cloud cover could thin a little and this will allow temperatures to reduce to around 8c.
The wind will spend the day deriving from a E to S arc (generally SE) at a an average wind speed of 6mph.
The weekend looks as if it will be a generally dry but cloudy.
Summary : Early rain passing to leave a mild but cloudy afternoon.
