Blustery breeze

It is a breezy start to the day today with the average wind speed around 10mph and gust speeds of around 25-30mph.  This level of breeze will remain with us for the majority of the day.  Care should be taken if you are driving a high sided vehicle or riding a bike or motor cycle.  The wind today will be deriving from a WSW-SW arc.

It will be a mild day with a top temperature of around 15c and an overnight low of around 13c.  The wind chill will, however, reduce the feel of the top temperature by a couple of degrees.

There is a 65% risk of further rain showers today and a 80% risk of more persistent overnight rain.

Looking ahead sees the jet stream slip below the southern edge of the UK by next weekend.  This jet stream position will allow the cooler northern climate to dominate and although we may see some clearer spells it will be a lot cooler than the mild temperatures we have recently enjoyed.
