Straps on your hat?

I am pleased to inform you that there are no weather warnings issued for our area today and after last night’s blustery interlude today will seem like a relatively calm affair.

There will still be some breeze around and the average wind speed will be around 10mph with gusts of around 30mph.  The wind speed will increase a little late tonight / overnight when the points of air pressure from the low pressure system close up a little.  The wind will spend the day deriving from a SW-WSW direction.

There is a large bed of rain cloud moving across the UK at the moment but this is generally all to the North of us.  There is, however, still a 70% risk of some rain in our area today.  The highest point of risk being mid afternoon. In our area we can also expect the cloud bed to break up a little from time to time to allow the odd brighter spell.

Our top temperature today will be around 13c although the wind chill will make this feel more like 10c.  Overnight the minimum temperature will be around 8c.

Summary : Breezy at times with some sunshine and showers.
