Warmer than yesterday.

The jet stream has now moved much closer to the UK and, in fact will be running across our island during the next 24 hours.  This will being us a period of less settled weather but it will be much milder than yesterday.

The rain radar images are showing clusters of rain cloud that will move across our area during the day.  The risk of further rain today is very high at about 90%.  In particular we can expect some rain whilst we are commuting to work this morning or taking the children to school.  Generally the rain will be light but there are one or two darker patches showing on the radar images that could bring some spells of heavier rain later in the day.

The wind will be bringing warmer air from the W-SW and our top temperature today will be around 8c.  Overnight will show little change and the minimum temperature will be 5-6c.

The charts are showing that the points of air pressure are tightly formed and this means that it could be breezy a times.  the average wind speed will be around 7mph but don’t be surprised if you feel the odd 20-25mph gust.

Summary: Further showers today but mild.
