Less rain?

As we discussed in yesterday’s blog it has been a very mild night with an overnight low of 12.3c at 00:00 hours.  This, however, is not totally unusual as we had similar conditions in 2013 when the air temperature at 06:40 hours was 12.7c (The same as today at 06:08 hours). Today (and 16 December 2013), however, is in stark contrast to 2010 and 2011 when the air temperature was around or below freezing point and snow was on the ground.

Today will be a mild day with a top temperature of around 14c and the overnight low will be around 11c.

The rain clouds will  clear our area by mid morning and he remainder of the day will be cloudy but dry.  The risk of rain beyond 10:00 hours is 15%.  With the warm wind it may be a good day to put some washing out.

The wind will be deriving from the SW and the average wind speed will be around 7-8mph.  Gusts could be around 20mph.

Summary: Another mild day. Cloudy but becoming dry.
