Firstly, let me take this opportunity to thank all of the readers of this blog and very happy and peaceful Christmas. Thank you for your support during the year.
This morning’s radar images show that the jet stream is running across the UK and this will bring with it unsettled weather. The rain radar images are already showing (at 08:30 hours) that a band of rain cloud is moving into our area. This could bring drizzle before 10:00 hours with a 85% risk of more persistent rain after. A high risk (60%) of rain showers will then remain with us throughout the day.
It will be a mild day with the air temperature warming as the day passes. By mid evening we can expect the top temperature of the day to be around 12c. Overnight the air temperature will remain mild at around 10c.
The wind will be light this morning (average 3mph) but it will increase to around 7-8mph as the day passes. The wind will be deriving from the warm SW.
