Little change overnight.

This morning will see the best of the day as partly cloudy skies will also allow the odd brighter spell to break through.  Whilst cool to start off at around 2c we will see the temperature climb to around 8c.

The increase in air temperature, however, will correspond with some thickening cloud.  The radar images are showing that a band of rain cloud will be tracking across the UK this afternoon.  The system will bring an 80% risk of some rain to our area today.  We are likely to receive around 3mm of rainfall by the end of the day.

The cloud cover will also mean it will be a mild night with very little temperature change from the daytime level (minimum around 5-6c).

As the cloud cover increases so will the air pressure reduce and the wind speed increase.  The air pressure will reach around 1008mb by late afternoon / early evening.

The wind speed will start off light at around 3mph first thing this morning before increasing to around 10mph with gusts of 25mph this afternoon.  The wind will be predominantly deriving from a SSW-WSW arc.

Summary: A cool start but with bright spells first thing.  Becoming cloudier with a high risk of rain during the afternoon.
