Air pressure rising.

At the time of my observations this morning there was some light rain falling.  The radar images, however, show that this will soon clear and beyond 09:30 hours the risk of rain will only be around 10%.  The surface air pressure at approximately 06:30 hours was gradually rising and the synoptic charts forecast that the day will end below a system of high pressure of around 1020mb.  All bodes well for a generally dry day.

It will be a partly cloudy morning but we will see some bright spells develop as the morning passes into the afternoon.  Our top temperature will be around 8c.  Overnight, under a clearing sky the air temperature will reduce to around 0c.

The wind will start the day deriving from the WSW but as the day passes we will see a gradual clockwise movement towards the NW.  This wind direction will bring cool winds and will reduce the “feel” of the air temperature by around 2c.  The average wind speed today will be around 5mph with gusts of around 12mph.

Summary: Damp start but clearing quickly to leave a dry and, at times, bright day
