Time for your ice scraper.

It is a cool start to the day with a generally clear sky.  At 06:30 hours the air temperature was -0.6c although the overnight low was -1.2c at 01:09 hours.  The air pressure will remain around the 1020mb mark. Care will needed to be taken on untreated roads and paths this morning and, if your car was left outside overnight, then you will need your ice scraper to clear the frost from the windscreen.

The radar images are showing no rain clouds in our area during my observations although cloud will increase slightly late tonight / overnight.  The clouds will, however, not thicken enough to prevent us having another sub zero overnight air temperature.  The overnight low will be around -1c.  The risk of rain today is low at around 9%.

Today we will see the thermometer reach a top temperature of around 5c although this will feel more like 2c with the wind chill.

The wind will be deriving from the a WSW-WNW arc. The synoptic charts are showing that the points of similar air pressure are not closely spaced and, therefore, the winds will be light.  The average wind speed today will be around 4-5mph.

Summary: An often bright day but remaining generally cool.
