A subtle change in the weather

It is another cool start to the day but it is not quite as cold as yesterday.  Our air temperature at 06:30 today (approximately) was 0.6c and the overnight low as 0.5c. Yesterday at the same time was -0.6c.

During the daylight hours we will see some bright spells through a partly cloudy or clear sky.  This sunshine will help lift the top temperature to around 5c. In the wind chill, however, it will feel more like 2c.  Later tonight we will see the surface air pressure reduce a little to around 1012mb and this will help introduce a little more cloud.  The overnight air temperature will be around 0c.  Despite a little more cloud the risk of any rain today is still only around 10%.

The wind will, once again, be bringing in cool air from the WNW/NW during the daylight hours.  As the air pressure drops the wind direction will switch towards the SW (hence the additional cloud cover as this warmer air direction mixes with the cool air).  The average wind speed today will be around 5mph.

Summary: A partly cloudy but often bright day.  Remaining cool.
