A dull affair.

Today will see a bit of a reversal in the cloud versus clear sky contest with cloud winning for most of the day.  After yesterday’s often bright day then today will seem a dull affair.

The cloud density this morning will  generally be full thickness (low, medium and high level cloud present) although as the day passes into the later parts of the afternoon and evening the cloud will thin a little as the mid layer of cloud dissipates. (Mid level cloud between 6,and 20,000 feet).

The low level cloud cover does bring with it a 25% risk of rain / drizzle, however, at the time of observation there is little evidence of this forming in our area. To assist with this conclusion is that the relative humidity, at the time of observation, remained low at only 76%.  We would expect the figure to be rising towards the mid 80s if rain was likely.  This situation, however, can change as the day passes.

Our top temperature today will be around 5.5c and overnight the low will be around 0c to 1c.

The wind will be light today and deriving from the SE.  The average wind speed will be around 5mph.

Summary: A generally cloudy day with little temperature change from recent days.
