WS7Weather report 28 February 2016 for Hammerwich, Lichfield, Burntwood, Brownhills, Bloxwich, Walsall and Pelsall areas.

As I write this blog (08:20 hours approximately) the air pressure is rising rapidly and will settle at around 1024mb by mid afternoon. This high pressure means that we are set for another dry day. It is, therefore, time to get out your bike or walking shoes and get some fresh air!

This morning will see some cloud around but the risk of rain is only about 7%. As the day passes the high pressure system will move further south and “block” the southern warm air systems and, therefore, the cloud cover will reduce. This means that this afternoon we will see some brighter spells develop. Overnight should also be clear enough to make some night sky observations.

Our top temperature today will be around 6c and overnight will see the risk of frost as the temperature reduces to around -1c. The ice scraper will be needed in the morning!

Today’s wind will be generally light but will bring with it cool air from a NNW-NE arc. The average wind speed will be around 5mph.

summary. A cloudy start but dry. Becoming brighter later.

Observations made 08:19 hours Hammerwich, Staffordshire.
Air temperature : 2c; Air pressure : 1023.1mb; Relative humidity : 87%; Wind speed : 3 mph NNW; Rain this month : 50.2mm; Rain this year : 110.4mm.
