A Spring like day to enjoy

Today is really going to be a Spring like day with plenty of bright spells and only a slight breeze to talk about.  There is very little risk of rain today (less than 7%) as the surface pressure air will continue to be high throughout the day (approximately 1035 -1036mb).

The reason for the fine dry weather is due to the Omega block we discussed yesterday.

Today will be a great day for working in the garden, going out on your bike or for a walk in the park.  It is also possibly one of the best day’s weather that the St Patrick’s day parade in Birmingham will have seen for a few years.

In more detail.  It will be a mild day with a top temperature of 9-10c.  There will be a light breeze which will start off from the SW but travel anticlockwise as the day passes towards the E-SE.  The average wind speed today will be around 5mph and this will reduce the feel of the top temperature by around 2c.

This evening we will see a little more cloud develop and overnight this cloud will help maintain the air temperature above freezing with a low of around 2c in rural areas.
