However you look at it today is the last day of winter! At 04:30 hours tomorrow morning we will see the beginning of the Spring Equinox and the heralding of a new season. From tomorrow onward the daylight hours will no longer be shorter than the hours of darkness.
Today will not be anything dramatic weather wise with plenty of medium height (around 6,000ft) cloud around. The radar images do not suggest that we will see too many bright spells (about 1 hour in the day).
The cloud cover will help maintain a mild air temperature of around 7c although the gentle NE breeze will make it “feel” a degree or two cooler. It will still be a good day for the working party at the LHCRT or for taking a brisk walk in the park. There is a 20% risk of some drizzle but most areas will remain dry throughout the day.
Overnight the air temperature will reduce to a low of around 4c. Last night’s minimum air temperature was 5c at 01:25 hours.
The wind will be bringing with it some cool air from the NNE-NE. The average wind speed will be around 5-6mph.
Summary: A generally cloudy day but reaming generally dry.
