High air pressure will maintain a position above our area today and that means we are set for another mild and dry day.
There will, however,be a subtle change to the weather pattern today. Over recent days the wind has been deriving from a general northerly area. Today will see a slightly anticlockwise movement with the wind now deriving from the W-WNW. The wind direction will help develop a little more cloud develop as the day passes. We will, however, see some bright spells during the morning. Despite the developing cloud cover the risk of any rain today is only 7%.
Our top temperature today will be around 8-9c and overnight the minimum temperature will be around 3c. Last night’s overnight low was 1.6c at 04:50 hours.
As the week passes we will see the wind bring milder air from the SW, this will increase cloud cover and this will eventually see rain develop in our area later in the week. I expect that a typical damp Bank Holiday weekend is on the cards for our area as things stand the moment.
Summary: A bright start becoming cloudier as the day passes.
