It is a partly cloudy day that greets us this morning and we will see a predominance of low and high level cloud during the day. There will be some bright breaking through but cloud will not be too far away. Despite the cloud cover the risk of any rain is less than 10%.
The increase in cloud does, however, mean that it will be a slightly warmer day with the top temperature reaching around 10c. Overnight we can expect the minimum temperature to reach around 4c. Last night’s minimum air temperature was 3.8c at 00:27 hours.
The wind will derive from a predominantly W direction (WSW-WNW arc) and the average wind speed will be a gentle 4mph.
During Thursday the high air pressure system that has been with us for the last couple of weeks will be replaced with a low pressure front. (You will have probably noticed that today’s air pressure of 1019mb is already 10 points lower than it was over the weekend). This low pressure system will bring with it some rain over the weekend. The best of the Bank Holiday weather currently looks as if it will be Friday.
Summary: A mild and gentle day but with a predominance of cloud..
