Surface pressure remaining high

For the second day high air pressure is centred on the UK although, as the day passes, we will see a slight reduction in the barometer reading.  This will not, however, spoil what will be another very pleasant day.

Over the next few days the air pressure will reduce and the indications from the synoptic charts are that we will have a system of low pressure across our area from late Monday.  We are also likely to see some rain showers over there weekend.  We will examine this in more detail nearer the point.

During today we will see plenty of bright spells and a very low risk of rain (around 3%).  Our top temperature will climb to around 14c and overnight we will see the overnight low dip to around 2.5c.  (Last night’s minimum temperature was 2.4c).

The wind will be generally light during the morning increasing to around 5mph during the afternoon.  The wind will be deriving from the cool ENE.

Summary:  Another bright day with plenty of sunny spells.  Cool overnight..
