Despite the fact that we have had some overnight rain there is some good weather news for me to deliver but, sadly, it will not help out too much today.
Our good news is that the surface air pressure is slowly rising and by the end of the day we will reach four figures at around 1004mb. Not a massive improvement but by the weekend we should be generally over this rainy period as the air pressure will continue to increase.
There are a few rain clouds showing on the radar images for this morning but the real risk of rain (some of which could be heavy) will be from around noon onward. The risk of rain this afternoon and into the evening is 85%.
It will be a generally cloudy day with some occasional bright spells. The bright spells will help lift the top temperature up to around 18c. Overnight the minimum temperature will be about 13c. (Last night’s low was 13c at 03:22 hours).
The wind today will be deriving from mainly the NE-NNE. The average wind speed will be around 5mph.
Summary: Further rain expected but the picture is beginning, slowly, to improve.
