We start this bank Holiday Monday with the air pressure rising rapidly and by the end of the day it will have settled at around 1024mb. Whilst there is some thin cloud around first thing this morning we can expect some sunny spells to break through. The risk of any rain today is low at around 5%.
The meteorological Autumn starts on the 1st of September (although the astronomical Autumn is not until the 22nd of the month) but, either way, it is good to be able to report this fine late summer weather.
Our top temperature today will be around 20c and overnight the minimum temperature will be around 12-13c.
The wind will be bringing it with it some mild air from the SW-SSW for much of the day and the average wind speed will be a light 5mph.
Today is one of those rare bank Holidays that it is safe to get outside and enjoy the fresh air without the risk of some heavy rain. So, as it is less than 16 weeks to the Christmas let us all enjoy this late Summer bank holiday’s dry weather.
Summary:Remaining dry with some bright spells too.
