31 August 2016 – Weather

At the time of my observations (06:30 hours) the air pressure was falling slowly but this is nothing to fear as it will begin to rise again after lunch.  We do have a small (30%) risk of some rain today but the real risk of rain is further NW of our region.

This morning will be generally cloudy but the cloud will fragment from time to time and by the afternoon we will see some brighter spells.  Our top temperature today will be a pleasant 20c and overnight the minimum temperature will be a mild 12c.  last night’s minimum temperature was 13.3c at 05:53 hours.

The  wind will deriving from the SW this morning but becoming more westerly by the afternoon.  The average wind speed will be around 5mph.

Today is officially the last day of the meteorological summer (the astrological end of summer is in the third week September) but the GFS ensemble suggests that we still have some mild days to enjoy during the first two weeks of September.

Summary: A slightly cloudier day than of late but still mild.
