A chance to bring in the last few grains.

It is a calm but mild morning that greets us today (20/09/2016).  The synoptic charts are showing that an area of high area pressure will maintain its position over our area for the next day or two and this will help deliver some mild weather to our area.

It will, however, be a cloudy / partly cloudy for the majority of the day and this cloud will help reduce the top temperature to around 16-17c.  This is around 10c cooler than last Tuesday when we reached a top temperature of 26.5c!  Overnight, tonight, will also remain mild with a minimum temperature of around 11-12c.

The wind will be little more than a gentle breeze for the majority of the day.  The average wind speed will be around 2-3mph.  The wind will, however, be bringing cool air with it from a NW-NE arc.

This settled weather will allow our local Hammerwich farmers to bring in the last few grains of the 2016 harvest.  The rain yesterday curtailed their activity.   The risk of any rain today is only around 12%.
