Patchy rain and wet weather shoes

This morning sees us start the day with some light patchy rain and this precipitation will continue to be a threat in our area until around 09:30 hours.  There will be a then be a break in the rain cloud before a second system reaches us late morning.  this second risk of rain will remain with us until early / mid afternoon.  The risk of further rain today (after 09:30 hours) is 85%.

If you are going to go out for an early morning walk then you will need to wear your wet weather shoes.

It will be a mild day with a top temperature of 14-15c.  The cloud bed will remain with us for much of the time and this will prevent the area warming up too much.  Overnight the air temperature will reduce to 12c.  This is warmer than last night’s low of 8.6c (reached at 03:16 hours).

The wind will be deriving from the S-SW (this warmer air helping to create the general cloud cover) and the average wind speed will be around 6-7mph.  The wind will become a little breezier in the afternoon than we will encounter this morning.

Summary : Patchy rain this morning.  Remaining cloudy and mild.
