Be careful on the paths (WS7weather report 1-12-2016)

ws7-weather-reportIt is another cool and frosty start to the day and those of you walking this morning will need to take care on any untreated paths as icy patches will be plentiful.

There will also be icy patches on the roads in places like the entrance and exit under the railway bridge in Hall Lane Hammerwich.  Great care needs to be taken here.

There will be some bright spells this morning but, as the day passes, we will see high level cloud develop during the late morning and afternoon.  Despite the extra cloud the air pressure will remain high and the risk of rain will only be around 6-7%.

Our top temperature today will be around 7c and overnight, due to a more westerly breeze, the minimum temperature will be around 4c.

The wind today will be deriving from a more W-WNW direction.  This more W derivation is a key element towards developing the cloud during the day.

The average wind speed will be around 3-4 mph for the majority of the day.

Summary : A cold bright start but developing a little more cloud than of late as the day passes.
