Will it rain today? (WS7weather report 9-12-2016)

ws7-weather-reportIt is going to be a breezy but mild day today as the wind continues to bring mild air to our area.  The synoptic charts show that the points of similar air pressure are closely spaced (hence the increased breeze) but that anywhere south of Scotland will continue to enjoy another few days of high surface pressure.

The rain radar images do show some clusters of rain cloud both north and south of our area this morning but we should miss the bulk of these systems.  The risk of rain in our area during daylight hours is 25%.  After dark another system of rain cloud passes through our area and this will bring a 40% risk of rain late tonight and in the early hours of tomorrow.

Our top temperature today will be around 12-13c and overnight the minimum temperature will be around 9c.  There will, however, not be too many clear spells as during the morning we will have a general covering of low or high level cloud.  This covering will thicken to all layers (L,M and H) as the day passes.

The wind will be deriving from a SW direction for much of the day.  It will be breeze at times with an average wind speed of around 6-7mph.
