After yesterday’s drizzly day I can report that today (14/12/2016) will be a much milder and drier day. Already at 06:30 hours the air temperature was at 9.4c.
Our maximum temperature today will be around 11c and overnight will similarly remain mild with a low of 7c. The air pressure will remain high for the remainder of the day.
We will see plenty of high level cloud cover today but also some brighter spells too. The risk of any rain is only around 12%. (3mm of rain fell in our area yesterday).
The jet stream is currently “riding” above the UK at the moment forming a “block” to the cold northerly climate and this is why we are enjoying such mild (but often wet) weather.
The wind will, once again, be deriving from the S-SSE and the average wind speed today will be around 6mph.
Summary : A mild day with possibly some bright spells.
