A look at the weather today and up to New Year (WS7weather report 18-12-2016)

ws7-weather-reportIt is a little bit of a cooler start to the day today with the air temperature at 08:30 hours still below 4c.  The wind, however, is light so there is little in the way of wind chill to consider.

Today will be a generally cloudy day with just the odd brighter spell.  the air pressure will reduce a little from 1036mb to around 1032mb but this will not increase the risk of any rain to above 8%.

Our top temperature today will be around 7-8c and overnight we will see little variation due to he cloud cover.  The minimum overnight air temperature is likely to be around 5c.

The light wind will spend the day deriving from the SW-WSW.  The average wind speed will be around 2-3mph.

The GFS ensemble models are suggesting that we will see weather similar to what we have received during the last few days between now and the New Year.  The average air temperature will remain mild and there is the risk of some rain (but not deep accumulation).  We will see if this model pans out as predicted as time passes.

Summary :  An often cloudy day but mild.
