Storm Barbara certainly let us know that she was around yesterday with wind speeds of around 35mph and a some heavy rainfall. The rainfall, however, was quite short-lived and only accumulated around 2mm.
Today will remain breezy and whilst we may see the odd gust reach around the 30mph mark we will not see sustained periods of high wind speeds like we did yesterday tea time. Our average wind speed will be around 10mph. The wind will be deriving from the WSW.
The radar images are showing that there are small clusters of rain carrying cloud moving through our area today. Many of these systems will simply blow by but we do have a 43% risk of the odd localised shower.
It will be a mild day and even milder night. The temperature during the daytime will be around 8c but as the clouds increase the temperature will increase and by Christmas morning we will see the thermometer reading around 10c.
Summary : A breezy day but mild. Some bright spells and a 43% risk of rain.
