Another snowy start to the day (WS7weather report 14-1-2017)

It is another”white” start to the day as some very light snow fell in our area in the early hours.

DSCN0159This morning will see further light occasional sleet and rain showers fall in our area until late mid morning.  This rain system is coming into our area from the NW.  The risk of further precipitation today is 80%.

As the day passes the air pressure will increase slightly and we will see some brighter spells.   Our top temperature, however, will still only be around 4c.  With the wind chill this will make the “feel” of the air temperature more like 2c.  Tonight will see a minimum temperature of around 1c.

The wind today will start off from the WSW but will travel more towards the NW as the day passes.  The average wind speed will be around 6-7mph.

Tomorrow morning will see further rain spread across large parts of the UK and this system will linger around.  Some of the rain could be moderate to heavy.  The risk of rain tomorrow is 90%.

If you want to get out and about then today is looking as if it is by far the better day of this weekend.

Summary for today :  An often cloudy morning with some precipitation.  Becoming dry later.  remaining cool.
