It is another early morning of light rain as we, once again, sit on the western edge of a large rain cloud system that is moving down the UK. The further east you travel today the more likely you are to come across more persistent rainfall.
The radar images are suggesting that the early morning system will be largely beyond our area by around 09:00 hours. We are then 60% likely to see further odd periods of rain. This risk will last for the majority of the day.
The good news is, however, that it will be a mild if dull day. The low and medium height cloud will prevent any real bright spells but the air temperature will hover around 8-9c at the maximum and 4-5c overnight.
The wind will start off light deriving from the NW but as the day passes will see an almost 180 degree switch towards the ESE. The average wind speed today will be a light 4mph.
Summary for today : Another rainy start to the day. Risk of further rain as the day passes. cloudy but mild.
