Ooh, that’s chilly (WS7weather report 21-1-2017)

ws7-weather-report

It is a very chilly start to the day with a wide-spread grass frost and plenty of misty patches.  It is very likely that some local lower league football matches could be called off today due frozen pitches.

At 06:32 hours the temperature was -1.3c but it we can expect the air temperature to reach the dizzy heights of 3c just after lunch.  Needless to say it is a day to wrap up warm and take care when you are travelling on untreated paths or roads as patches of back ice are highly likely.  After dark the air temperature will again fall below freezing point and we can expect the thermometer to record a “low” of around -2c.

It will be a partly cloud day with medium to high cloud prevalent.

The wind will be light but will be delivering cool air from the NE-ENE for much of the day.  The average wind speed will be around 4mph.

Summary for today : A cool day with a top temperature of only 3c.  More frost overnight.
