A breezy day (WS7weather report 22-2-2017)

smalllogo

It is a breezy start to the morning and these increased wind speeds will remain with us for much of the daylight hours.  The average wind speed will be around 10mph with gusts of 25-30mph.

The wind will be deriving from a WSW-WNW arc for most of the day.

It will be another mild day.  The air temperature at 06:40 hours was already at 11c.  Whilst this figure will not increase by much as the day passes this is still very mild for the time of year.  The overnight minimum temperature will be around 8c.

The radar images are showing that there is plenty of rain cloud around today although the bulk of the early morning rain is to the north and west of our area.  If you travel up to the Derby area though you are fairly certain of seeing some early morning rain.

We are, however, unlikely to remain all day given that there will be plenty of rain cloud passing our way as the day passes.  The risk of some rain during today and/or in the early hours of tomorrow is around 85%.

.Summary for today : A breezy day but mild.  A high risk of some rain showers.
