Where is Mr Sun this morning? (WS7 weather report 22-3-2017)

smalllogo

It is not such a pleasant start to the day today with dense cloud shrouding our area and the surface air pressure slowly reducing to around the 1000mb mark.

Sadly the dense cloud will remain with us for much of the day and the radar images are also showing that we are 97% likely to encounter some rain showers this morning.   (We can expect some rain during the commute to work). Rain showers will continue to be an 80% risk throughout most of the daylight hours.

Our top temperature will be around 8c and overnight it will reduce to a low of around 4c.

The wind will be deriving from a E-ESE arc for much of the day.  The easterly wind will make the air temperature feel particularly cool.  The average wind speed will be around 8mph.  This will reduce the “feel” of the top temperature by 2-3c.

Summary for today :A cloudy day with a high risk of some rain showers.

Observations made on 22/3/2017 at 06:25 hours Hammerwich, Staffordshire.
Temperature : 5.4c; Air pressure : 1000.9mb; Relative humidity  88%; Wind : 3 mph ESE; Rain this month : 36mm; Rain this year : 136mm
