Mild but what’s the risk of rain? (WS7 weather report 29-3-2017)

The first thing you will notice this morning when you step out of the door is just how mild it is.  At 06:30 hours the air temperature was already at 11.4c and the overnight low stayed above 10c (lowest temperature overnight was 10.3c at 00:13 hours).

There is, however, a low pressure system out to the west of the UK and this system is bringing with it mild air from the SW which, in turn, is creating more cloud and increasing the risk of rain.

There is a 70% chance of some light rain showers during the commute to work and around a 60% risk of some other localised light rain showers during the remainder of the day.  For the majority of the day we will be under a “bed” of dense cloud.

Our top temperature today will be around 14c and the overnight low will be around 10c.

The wind will spend most of the day deriving from the SSW-SW and the average wind speed will be around 8-10mph with gust speeds of around 15-20mph.

Summary for today : A cloudy but mild day with some rain showers likely.
