Rosie’s birthday wintry weather (WS7 weather report 26-4-2017)

smalllogo

It is another cold start for our early morning walkers and cyclists.  The air temperature by 07:00 will only be around 2c but with wind chill it will feel more like 0c.

We will see some bright spells during the day but by mid morning these spells will be joined by a little more cloud cover. Late this morning / this afternoon sees a band of rain move across the UK from the E and this system will bring a 60% risk of some showers (possibly with sleet and hail).

Our top temperature will be around 8c and overnight the minimum will be around 1c.  Again, with the wind chill, you can reduce that figure by around 2c if you want an indication of how warm it will “feel”.

The wind will be deriving from the NW for much of the day.  The average wind speed will be around 6mph.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to wish my daughter, Rosie, a very happy birthday!

Summary for today : An often bright but cold day.  A risk of some wintry showers.
